Homecoming 2013: Aftermath

Robert Morris University had its Homecoming weekend this past week and despite the cold, rainy environment that greeted everyone, it was a great success. Many RMU alumni showed up to a variety of events to catch up with one another throughout the week and to watch some great college football! The School of Business was there in full force and we were in a celebratory mood, much like the United States Postal Service, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds!"

The appointed rounds for everyone was to have a good time, enjoy the delicious food and catch up with alumni! The Social Media Associates were also there to sell the Social Media t-shirts (some are still available!) and help promote what we are doing and state the mission behind our blog. Overall the day was successful, everyone at the School of Business tent had a good time despite the wind, rain and chilly temperature.

The only dangerous/comical moment happened when the Women’s Lacrosse tent was caught in a gust of wind and flew up and into the tree directly behind them. Luckily the tree was there, otherwise the tent would have flown over the fence and down into the parking lot for Joe Walton Stadium!

The aftermath of the disastrous wind!
Sadly, the Robert Morris Colonials fell to the Duquense Dukes, 21 to 20. The Colonials had much needed surge in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough. A botched field goal attempt and a fumbled play helped secure a win for the Dukes.
The rain will not dampen the spirits.
