This
fall semester, Women in Business became an official club here at Robert Morris
University. The first meeting was held on October 28th and was led
by the club’s officers. The organization, advised by Dr. Jill Maher and Dr.
Daria Crawley, has a goal of empowering and connecting women in the School of
Business. At the first meeting, members discussed what they wanted from the club
and voted on the slogan and cause to fundraise for. After the votes were
counted, it was decided that Women in Business would be raising money for Pennsylvania Women
Work, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women in career transition. The organization’s
slogan was chosen to be, “There is no force equal to a woman determined to rise!”
-W.E.B. Dubois. Friday, November 13th is the last day to turn in applications and dues. Applications and money should be put in a sealed envelope and placed in either
Dr. Maher or Dr. Crawley’s mailbox, located in Massey Hall. The next meeting is
tentatively scheduled for November 18th at 9pm. While the club may
be focused towards women, men are welcome to join. If you have any questions,
feel free to contact Dr. Maher at maher@rmu.edu or Dr. Crawley at crawley@rmu.edu.
